#Mithali Dorai Raj; the current Indian Women Cricket ODI & Test captain, became the leading run scorer in Women ODI Cricket. She is also the first women individual to surpass the 6000 runs landmark in Women’s ODI History! The 34 year old made her debut against Ireland and had a dream run in 2015 when she was honored with Padma Shri Award & also became the first women to win the Wisden India Cricketer of the year. Not to mention but she also holds Arjun Award. At the age of 19 years she burst to the international area as one of the most accomplished batsman & caught the eye, imagination of millions of cricket lovers when she hit solid 214 against England in the second and final Test; the score still stand as second highest in the ICC Women Test Cricket.  

Let’s have a look on the all time ICC ODI Women Cricket’s leading top 10 run scorer along with Mithali Raj’s overall batting record in various formats.  

As you could see that she is the lone Indian fighter in the current all time run getter list with the superb average of 50+ & the most number of 50+ scores, gives us immense pride, satisfaction & every reason to celebrate for being extreme cricket lovers and further more an Indian!  Mithali’s achievement has not gone unnoticed for sure & here are some the Tweets she received after reaching the milestone:-

Currently the Indian Women ODI team pushing hard to enter the Semi Finals of ongoing ICC Women World cup in England. After straight 4 wins, now facing the heat as they lost their recent match against Australia. At the post-match ceremony, Mithali said, “It was a decent total after losing our first wicket in the first couple of overs. We should have got more runs in the middle overs, but it was still a competitive total. But the bowlers didn’t look penetrative, it was a slow wicket. I think that since I’ve had a long career, [the milestone] is part of it. It’s very important for me to get runs for my country from my bat. I can say I’m happy even though I’m not happy in terms of the result or the way I scored them today. Even for New Zealand, probably, it will be a do-or-die match. If we look forward to qualifying, we really need to upgrade our quality of cricket.

It’s a tough road ahead for the Indian Women Cricket team but they have every reason to believe that they can do it under the captaincy of one the legends of current modern women cricket!
